In embracing the belief that everything is connected, we can begin to imagine our relationship with all things. The law of reciprocity tells us that to be in right relationship we give what we can so that we can receive what is offered. In this way, energy and it’s transformative quality flows through us. Often in places of fear, we clench up, we block, we numb and we try to shut off our connection to the world around us. But it is through trust that we are able to open up to all that surrounds us. As we cultivate our capacity to be in balance, we are able to respond more readily to the natural flow of things. 

A wolf extends her limbs to the trusted direction of geese who know the collaborative nature of things. They take turns bearing the weight of leading so that others can rest in their wake. As crab apple blossoms fall gently, her wolf cubs play in the innocent trust that whatever they need will be provided for them. Crab apples are a vital food source for many of our coastal communities and orchards were tended in our ancestral gardens. They teach us that in order to bear fruit to share, they must be taken care of. Two waves crest in balanced unison with the promise that there will forever be an ebb and flow to all things.
